Yoga is the panacea of all human ailments, in the physical realm, in the psychic realm, and also the spiritual realm. – Discourse in Haifa 1979
Is Baba My Constant Companion?
(Adapted from Traveler in I Meet my Beloved)
After meeting Baba, many questions began bubbling up in my mind, especially during my second and third visits with Him. I wondered, Does Baba truly know everything about everyone? Is He in constant touch with every mind at all times? Is that even possible? These doubts lingered within me.
During one visit, I was traveling with Baba and several others in a train compartment. Baba was talking with us as the train began to move. A thought arose in my mind: If Baba is always aware of my thoughts, He will look at me now.
At that very moment, Baba turned and looked directly at me.
But I dismissed it as a coincidence. I thought to myself, If He really is always connected with every mind, He will look at me again.
Baba was engaged in conversation with someone else, yet a moment later He looked at me once more and smiled.
I returned His gaze with a mixture of joy, confusion, and amazement.
About ten minutes later, I decided to test Him again. This time, Baba looked at me and said, “My child, why are you thinking in this way?”
My heart filled with devotion. I was embarrassed, yet deeply satisfied.
My Baba is always with me. He is my ever-present companion!

Even a gold vessel needs polishing occasionally. Unmaintained it gathers dust and dirt and loses its luster. Similarly, even a good person, a spiritual aspirant needs proper maintenance, for in a world of constant change, care must be taken that the change is always toward the better or the higher. Keeping good company is essential for positive development, while bad company strengthens the bondage of the soul, good company is conducive to liberation and salvation. – Seminar Notes 1980
